It's surprising how much memory is built around things unnoticed at the
time. -Barbara Kingsolver, novelist, essayist, and poet (b. 1955)
Hi Rosemary and Andre! Trust you are both well and acclimatizing! Hope flight went as well as can be expected. Thanks for letting us know about Frank joining us on 15th. Should be fun. All the best to you both from Cora Lee. Give us a shout when you have a moment. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Michaelo! Jura duly noted! Now I need to ask
another favour! Whirlygig and Carlos the Jackal will be down for
Wrightson on October 17th. I was wondering if you might be able to take
six bottles of wine to Multnomah to give to them to mule back to
Vancouver. However, only if you plan to be going there, either to play
or watch. Not a big deal if it cannot happen or else there is no wine
left after Marilyn's depredations!
Had a lovely day today with the Brisbanites, Claire and Greg, who arrived
yesterday. Last evening, before everyone went to bed, we arranged to have breakfast here the next morning, at 8:00 pm, as Sarge was
going to drive Claire/Greg/Cora Lee to Whistler at 9:00 pm. No movement next door until shortly after 10:00 am!
Guess they are lightweights!
Anyway, after "brunch" Cora Lee took
them for a stroll around Granville Island and then around 1"00 pm we
took Aquabus over to north side of False Creek to stroll through
Yaletown, popping into VPL and then ending at Art Gallery for a bite to
eat. Then on to Long Table Ditillery at foot of Hornby for a tasting of all their
product there. C/G were quite taken with Cucumber Gin and Bourbon Barrelled Gin. I took a bottle of the Långbord Akvavit as my last bottle didn't last very long!
Back
on Aquabus to disembark at GI. Goils went to market to do a bit of
shopping while Greg and I headed for Liberty Distillery to enjoy a
"flight" tasting, half an ounce of the following:
Truth Vodka, Railspur No. 1 White Whiskey and Endeavour Gin. Greg liked
the Gin but I'm partial to the Vodka. After the very pleasant tasting
we walked back to The Islay Inn. Cora Lee had made a scrumptious
crock-pot stew so I threw together a mixed green saladin and we sat down
to dinner. Clan Sutherland came upstairs to join us for meal as Greg was being
initiated into the ancient art of curling later that evening.
Curlers
left for rink about 6:15 pm as they were playing the early, 7:00 pm
draw. Will be curious to hear how Greg did. He has very bad knees,
(years of Aussie Rules), so I gave him my "sticks" in case he cannot
manage traditional delivery. Dusty made me a couple of "sticks" from
broom handles and a couple of jam tins, to use after my hip replacement. In fact, I became quite adept at
very, very accurate delivery, much to the amazement and consternation
of our opponents, especially when we won two consecutive league
championships! Must admit, had more to do more Sarge's/Flamin's skill
and ability to call the game than my technique. Nevertheless, scads of
fun.
Hope to make run to Whistler domani unless Ozzies oversleep again. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Brisbanites!
Hello Arts Club Theatre Company Subscribers! Trust you are both well and not bemoaning the fact that you gave away your tickets to Educating Rita to the Islay Inn Dipsomaniacs! In fact, we had to give away tickets to friend and neighbour, Joanne, as our friends, Claire/Greg, arrived Monday, from Brisbane, at 5:00
pm. Cora Lee was unable to change tickets from Monday as her name was not on
account. (Rather unthinking of you, I must say!!!) We anticipated that by the time we'd have them home it would be close to 7:00 pm and show
started at 7:30 pm.
At any rate, Joanne and her daughter, Tracy, enjoyed play very much so they are now in your debt and you still owe us more tickets!!!
All the best to you both from Cora Lee. Let us know when we can expect to see you. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!
PS:
We have a card from the Arts Club welcoming you to the new season. Will
let you know which dates work best for us so that we can actually use
your tickets next time!
P, did I miss something? Was there another response from Kurt? W
Hi Giggster! No, I just now had
time to send a response. Had been thinking about this ever since Kurt
replied to my initial message. Simply felt I had to reply, for better or
worse. Sent a message to Michaelo about possible muleage but haven't heard back yet. All the best to you from Cora Lee. Let us know when we
can expect to see you. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Pat and David! Trust you are both well. Is most of harvest over?
With respect to arriving at your place, what time would we need to
knock on your door so that it would be convenient for you? We will be
spending Monday night in Portland. I imagine trip will take about 10
hours. Assuming no hitches, we could arrive between 6:00 pm-7:00 pm,
Tuesday, October 27th, if we leave Portland around 8:00 am. We'll tailor our itinerary to suit your busy lives so simply let me know what you'd like. All the best to you from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi SCUAWAS! Trust you and your needle are both well. Bestestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!
