World Naked Gardening Day Watering Can Blues: Saturday, May 2nd!

The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad. -Salvador Dali, painter (1904-1989)

Patrick James Dunn I've been encouraging this for years but Cora Lee simply says, "O Patrick, grow up!" What's a poor boy to do? Nicole Marie I'm glad she says that to you!!! And glad you listened for once! Patrick James Dunn Who says that I listened? Patrick James Dunn They were and Sarge came to the door, without his uniform, wearing only his boots!

Congratulations Gaelan! Happy Birthday and Fondest of Fond Wishes to you today and always! Present this card for a free weekend stay at our soon to be new home in Penticton! Hip Hip Hooray! For She's a Jolly Good Fellow! Cheers, Cora Lee and Patrizzio!

Hi Raymond! Sorry I've not been in touch sooner but Cruella Coriandre, Harsh Packing Task Mistress, has been cracking the whip of late! Nevertheless have managed to take a few much needed breaks. Whirlygig and Calamity Jane popped by a week ago to introduce us to his wonderful new Border Collie pup, Morita.

George is very well and proceeding apace with the addition to his place on Galiano. Footings have been poured and next stage involves support beams, etc. This Thursday evening Big Al and Colleen were over for dinner. Al will drive the 26' U Haul up to Penticton for us. Sarge and Flamin', along with other neighbours, Patrizzia and Greg, joined us for the meal as well.

Was thinking of heading out to Iona on Sunday and am wondering if you are interested. Not sure what roads will be like as a result of Vancouver Marathon street closures but I think Cypress to Marine should be fine, from the quick glance I took at maps posted. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Madroña Manor! Just had a newsletter from Legacy in Olympic Village and thought of all those times in Puerto Vallarta when we could buy the following for abut $4!

L.A. Cetto Chenin Blanc - $17.54 Mexico Pale yellow with a slight green tinge, this white wine is reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruits like orange and mango, making it a lively pairing for chips and salsa or fish tacos.

L.A. Cetto Petite Syrah - $17.54 Mexico A bright red ruby, this plush red wine has aromas of currant, plum and raspberry. With its soft tannins and ripe fruit, this would be well paired with tortas or carnitas!

L.A. Cetto Zinfandel - $17.54 Mexico A rare treat from the south! Aromas of chocolate covered raisins, raspberries and black currant open up to spicy black pepper and homemade crushed pepper flakes with mocha and cola flavours. Fantastic with Mole Poblano with chicken!
Sorry I've not been in touch sooner. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Bridge: Can we try to get together sometime after May 15 and before you leave us , pat and Corinne? Prolly Hello Prolly or is it Brolly or just clumsy thumbs! Thanks very much for invitation. Lady Mary is away, at another meeting, at the moment, so I'm not sure of her schedule after May 15th. Consulting the calendar, I believe that May 19th/20th/21st are free. Those days are fine, from my point of view, but I will ask her once she is home and we'll be in touch. All the best from Cruella, flexing her whip, in absentia, as I scribe! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Polly et al! Mme Coriandre has just confirmed that Tuesday, May 19th and Thursday, May 21st have not yet been penciled-in on her chock-a-block meeting/appointment calendar! Sorry I have not replied sooner but it took sometime for her people to talk to my people, lost amidst packing cases, sneezing from dust on books not opened for millennia, fingers stuck together with packing tape! Must away as Cruella is about to flog me for taking less than a five minute break from emptying drawers and clothes-closets while she barks out orders from the comfort of her easy chair, self-medicating all the while! (See attached picture) Cheers, Under Extreme Duress, Patrizzio!

Hi Pauline Either of those dates work for us as well. Let us know what you would like me to bring. Cheers  Elaine Thursday 21 looks good for all of us. See you then. Don't worry about food. Pauline Hi Polly! Thanks! Thursday it is. What time? Cheers, Patrizzio!

Didn't really have time for a 100 km ride once I'd discharged most of the packing related chores Lady Mary had assigned so I had to settle for a relatively slow, modest outing, starting out with route regulare

around Olympic Village but not venturing onto the Seawall as it was far too, too busy with pesky recreational cyclists, assorted joggers, dog-walkers and meandering tourists. Then to Kits Point and along Spanish Banks with enough distance, by then, to only have to do the 16th/Imperia/Marine loop before making for home, via Chancellor, to achieve my set distance goal. Happy to have achieved a 20.2 kph AVG as I didn't feel like battling the fairly constant head-wind. Stats for ride:

Later in the evening we drove to Chloë's place and took her car, (ours is filled with bags to taken to First United), along with her friend, Rachel, [Her brother Chris, {Aden Young is his stage name}, is the star of Rectify, (a SundanceTV original, available on Netflix, that I cannot recommend highly enough!), and Rachel had just returned from the visiting him and his family in the small Georgia town where the 3rd season of series is being filmed. Wonderful to have a bit of an insider's view of both the production and Chris himself.], over to North Van to watch an episode of Chopped. Krissy Seymour, (Pig on the Street owner), had competed and we'd not seen recorded event. She and Chloë arranged to have the showing at the home of Leigh and Jason, Stratton, owners/founders of Bridge Brewing Company, 2012, couple they both know through beer-related connections. At any rate it was a wonderful evening, in spite of the fact that Krissy came in 2nd. She did remarkably well so we were very proud and duly impressed, not that anyone has ever doubted her culinary abilities. It was also fascinating to have a chance to find out what actually goes on and learn a bit more about how such shows are filmed, etc.

Once we'd found address and met hosts, I had a chance to visit with the partner, Laurie, of another friend, Rhona, [She is in Scotland at moment, starting on the many arrangements for their wedding this coming August there.], of Chloë's. We've had them both over to our place a number of times so we know them reasonably well. Last time we saw them, this past Fall, he was just about to take off on a road tour with Diana Krall. He is a sound technician and was hired to be in charge of one of the latest, pretty special, and very expensive, apparently, German systems, (amplifiers, speakers, etc.), so again, it was a delight to hear about the tour from his backstage point of view. He was just home for a week or so and is off again shortly as the tour continues. He will probably do the same when Diana goes to Europe in September but will not be working for the tail-end of the NA component as dates conflict with his wedding.

Over the course of the evening we were also able to chat with Leigh's parents , Marcy and Brian Newlands. Turns out that they own a place in Summerland, (5 bedrooms/5 bathrooms, built by them with an idea to selling it for a B&B, at some point), as well as a home in North Van. This vacation property is not all that far from 8th Generation, on the flats of Summerland, a winery we are quite fond of. At any rate, we seem to be making all sorts of connections to people in and around Penticton so we now spit on Vancouver friends!

Hi Pat, Thanks for the pictures. Yes, they were very nice. I guess you are busy getting packed and maybe deciding what stays and what goes or what goes with you and what gets recycled. Must be a big job. Or, maybe you keep up with clutter as it happens, which we don't always. I'll pass on your good wishes. Say hi to Corinne. Best, Margaret

Dear Patrick Thanks so so much for the update and pictures. The Border Collie pup is adorable. I am sure that packing is all consuming. I am still rehabbing and return to work on Monday--yikes. Anyways do take care and as the whip continues to crack I will be thinking of you. Cheers Jo-Anne

Pat, I can't make it tomorrow as I have a full day of teaching starting at 8:30 but I'm free most mornings next week if we can link up. Probably only a 2 hour or so ride as I haven't ridden any distance since the last time I was out with you. Ray

Hello Everyone, Below is an Update on Pat and Fundraising Events If you are in Vancouver, please attend. Hope to see you there. Best, Tip
