Jackson Plymouth Drytown Blues: Tuesday, November 4th!

I would rather be the man who bought the Brooklyn Bridge than the one who sold it. -Will Rogers, humorist (1879-1935)

Hi Flamin'! Greetings from Jackson. Had a great time with Teresa at Teresa's last night. Going to do the ride from here to Plymouth, like the one Sarge and I did, this morning and then taste in the afternoon! Dinner at Fork tonight! More Harry Belafonte on the way home! Wish you were here! Congratulations on your work anniversary! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Boom Boom! Greetings from Amador County. Going to ride from Jackson to Plymouth this morning and then taste in the afternoon! Plenty of Petite Sirah to sample! Congratulations on your work anniversary! Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Patricio, Sounds like you’re having a grand tour. I hope your liver survives so we can make the India trip. Try not to buy too much more wine!

Back in the trenches, the hard working farmers are living a life of poverty growing grapes so you urban sophisticates can live the good life touring and wine tasting. We harvested our Syrah on Sunday. Quite a nice crop. We ended up with something over 3 tons (final weight not in yet). A few harvest pictures attached. Cheers, Peter

Hello Goa Guides! I must say that I was rather hurt, Dom Jugos, when I read "Think of all the new best friends Patrick will be able to make!" However, I must admit that my current traveling companions chortled, uncontrolably, when I read out the sentence.

Off shortly, to drive to Plymouth where we will find a place to stay and then ride the quieter roads around there. Want to show the lads, Whirlygig and Glasgow, some of our favourite wineries. Planning on going back to Taste:

a wonderful restaurant we discovered with Flamin' and Sarge a number of years ago. Keep up the good work, travel agents. Must away as time to load Titanium Green and head out to Sutter Creek and Amador City. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Porno pumpkins outside Teresa's, (great Italian spot in Jackson), last night!

Hi Goils! Trust everyone is well. Decided to drive to Plymouth, from Jackson, instead of cycling as one of us would have had to have been the chauffeur. Whirlygig suggested riding once in Plymouth and it was a the perfect suggestion.

After we checked into the Shenandoah Inn, (Cabins at place down the highway were outrageous, $240 before I finally asked if that was the best and then still $170!), we unloaded wine from car, (Glad we did as it is baking out now!), and took off, making for Fiddeltown. Some great hills and hardly any cars so it was paradise. Ended up doing a few loops around some of our favourite wineries and then back to motel to shower and change. Stats for ride:

Heading back to Pokerville Market for some cheese and sliced meat to make sandwiches with the loaf of bread that Cactus sent along. Lads are complaining about not having one of his bagged lunches. We ate ones he gave us, yesterday, around noon, in Farmington, en route to Murphy's in Calaveras County. Once we have fixin's we'll hit three or four wineries! Fondestos and Cheers, Dad/Patrizzio!

Pics: Before this morning's outing. Giggster used Elastoplast on his handlebars. A "Dusty" fix!

sounds like a great time we finally had a sunny day here after stormy rains and floods in NORTH Van Robyn over for supper tonight before she heads for England and Italy. love you c

Carol Riera Hi paprika, how are you? I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees. Saw the X-rays and they weren't pretty. I had two shots into knees to help reduce swelling. You had that right? What advice do you have for me. Bruno and I are on our way to Chicago for a translator's conference. At the end of the month we are going to be the proud owners (well the bank officially will own it for now) of a half acre property in qualicum beach near the beach and the village. We will be renting it out until we can go there for retirement. Love to you and coriander.

As events unfolded, we only managed to hit two wineries. Had a fun tasting at Dobra Zemlja. Unfortunately, Milan wasn't at tasting counter but we enjoyed the offerings nonetheless. Had a great picnic afterwards, washing down sandwiches with Milan Ruz, ($20.00 per 1 L jug), Milan's signature blend of Sangiovese, Syrah and Zinfandel. One can return the jug and have it refilled so plan to do just that in February when we are passing through en route to Palm Springs. After tasting and chatting we enjoyed the wonderful light of the setting sun over the surrounding vineyards, taking a number of pictures in front of the pomegranate tree, still quite heavily laden with fruit, on the property.

Then back to the Shenandoah Inn to digitate, shower and change before heading down the slight hill to Colina De Oro for a tasty dinner. We were last customers and kitchen was closing at 8:00 pm so we had to be quick about ordering. Still, staff were friendly and we enjoyed our food.

Hello Peopolage! Just back from Colina De Oro, which used to be the Bar T Bar. Had a very tasty meal, with Coffaro corkage. Now back in our snug beds and ready for the Swedish Masseuses! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Plymouth Shenanigans!
