Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction. -Blaise Pascal, philosopher and mathematician (19 Jun 1623-1662)
Hi Kimbo, et al! Thanks so much for the blueprint! Certainly very much appreciated! I'll certainly be able to use the drawing as a terrific starting point for what I hope to build once back in Penticton. Will send you some snaps of completed project, finished I trust, before the end of the summer!
Buona Fortuna with your co-op program and then your further studies after that. I'm sure you'll do extremely well in any undertakings you pursue, given your obvious talents, abilities and disciplined work ethic . All the best, Kimbo! Onward! Fight!! Fondestos and Cheers, Cora Lee and Patrizzio!
Pics: A few snaps from last night! Sorry I didn't take any of you Kimbo!
During a press conference earlier this week it was disclosed that the Manitoba Tourism Commission has invested one million dollars to have celebrity Brad Pitt consider endorsing the province. Deputy Commissioner of Tourism Gerald Crawford argued that a celebrity of Mr. Pitt's calibre is exactly what the province needs to get international recognition.
"In an ideal world, he would mention Manitoba in an interview with a Hollywood magazine or website." Gerald Crawford, Deputy Commissioner of Tourism Manitoba
"Nobody wants to hear about the attractions Manitoba has," said Crawford, "they want to know that Brad Pitt thinks this is a kinda of a cool place. Can you imagine the buzz it would create around the world if he were to actually come here?!" When pressed by Pat Kelly - Mr. Crawford was quite defensive and unclear about the particulars of Manitoba's contract with Brad Pitt.
Up at just after 6:00 am to creep into the kitchen and do some of the dishes from last night's meal. Made myself a Keurig while I beavered away and then enjoyed another cup of coffee with Dallas and Kaitlyn before they left at 7:00 am, (other two had left even earlier), and then I loaded car. Lady Mary was still in bed by the time that was done so I made her a cup of tea and then took it down to bedroom where we had slept. I had a quick shower while she ate breakfast and after doing a few dishes we headed out, shortly after 8:30 am, driving through Rivers, where my grandparents had lived and where Annie and my uncles were born.
Again, another easy drive and we were in Winnipeg around noon, to stop at Grant Park for hootch and then at Gimli Fish for pickerel for Lady Mary. Fair bit of local traffic so we weren't on highway, east of Perimeter, until 1:30 pm. Straight sailing from then on and we pulled into Ace Bay just before 3:00 pm. After we unloaded the car, mainly filled with Durston's possessions, (three small tables, stationary bicycle, rug cleaner/shampoo device, floor lamp and a large vase lamp, three tubs of miscellaneous items, [everything from Xmas ornaments to tools to clothes and the like]), suited/lubed up an had a very good ride to South Shore and then West Hawk. Really a very fierce head wind out of the west so ride back from WH was quite a struggle. Nonetheless, I enjoyed being back in the saddle again after not having ridden for a few days. Stats for ride:

Great dinner, (Clarisse's porcupine meatballs), and then we played a few hands of bridge, with Patti and George filling in at various times. Fell into bed around midnight as it had been a long day and was probably still tired from all the driving we'd done.
Hi Pat trying to track down Jane Lucas.... has she moved out of town ? dont have a functioning email address for her any more Ron
Hi Mr Grizzle! Sorry that it has taken me so long to send a reply. Jane is now living in Courtenay, in a small, very comfortable place right near the beach. As you can see, I have included her in the message so you will have her email address.
Trust all continues to go well with you and your artistic endeavours! Cora Lee sends along best wishes to everyone and encourages a visit, whenever possible, as do I. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!
How are things in the new pad. Wayne
Hello Pat, I’m sorry to pass on such sad news.
Sara I am very sad to inform you all that Tip and Jim
Placzek’s son - Pat – passed away last night, after a long and brave
fight with cancer. I have no details yet but will pass them on in the
coming days.
Tip has been with the Education library for a very
long time and I know that many people in the library system know her
well, so I wanted to share this news as soon as possible. Our hearts go
out to both her and Jim. Christopher Ball Head - UBC Education Library
