Young James Dean Blues: Thursday, June 18th!

Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction. -Blaise Pascal, philosopher and mathematician (19 Jun 1623-1662)

Drove into Winnipeg on Thursday morning to have lunch with close friend, Noreen, (Maya's grandmother), at Peasant Cookery, where Carly is Assistant Manager. Her day off, however, so we didn't see her. After lunch we took Noreen home and then ran a few more errands before heading back to Pam's for a bit before heading out to dinner. Duston, P's/G's youngest, was home from school and modeled the dashing suit he was wearing to his Grad next week.

After I snapped a few pictures of our very handsome nephew, we made for Wildwood Park where my cousin, Sally, and family live. Their daughter, Caitlyn, is teaching and lives with her boyfriend. He was busy but we were happy she was able to join us for dinner. Travis, youngest, still lives with his parents, was home from work shortly after we arrived. He is already a crew leader so is doing quite well since he graduated from the surveying program at Red River College a few years ago.

We had picked up beef brochettes at Miller's Super Valu Meats, a great butcher shop not far from Pam's house, earlier. Filmer bbq'd and we visited on deck until dinner was ready and then we went inside to enjoy delicious food. As we were getting ready to say goodnight, Sally gave me a about ten pictures of Mom which Emil, her brother, had taken over the years so was very pleased to have them, as you can well imagine. Hope to see them again before we leave for Penticton.

Sally's Travis looks like you when you were a teen! DNA!         Hi Winston! Tell Ayn that what is much more frightening is that I'm starting to look like Uncle Emil! Talk about DNA! Cheers, Photographer Patrizzio! Back to St Michael Road to stay overnight with Pam and Greg. As it wasn't very late, they were still up so we had time to chat with both of them. Had picked up a bottle of Diplomático Single Vintage 2000 Rum, finished in Sherry Casks, 43%, at Grant Park that afternoon, so Greg and I managed to put a fair dint in it before we all headed for bed!
