Passing Shower Blues: Saturday, March 21st!

Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away. -Dorothy Parker, author (1893-1967)

Hello, Patrick: Thanks for your note. You're in for a busy time! As you say, it will be arduous, but also exciting. I remember my last move (2002) and what hard and overwhelming work it was. But no question -- it was worth it!

I've been sick -- came home early on Thursday, and spent much of yesterday sleeping. Feel a bit better today -- Saturday -- and plan to go into work. (Yes, some of us are still on that treadmill.) Will attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. for a homeless man -- Leon -- who I knew quite well, and who was found dead by the police behind Kerrisdale Arena -- where he used to camp -- a couple of weeks ago. The service will be at the Shower Programme at Kits Community Centre.               Can we try for the "India Seminar" next Sunday, March 29th? And what would you say to coming over on the early side -- say around 4:30 -- looking at pictures first, then have a leisurely dinner (GF of course). I'm pretty flexible though, so let me know what suits best. Look forward to seeing you soon! Janet

So we have Clive, Big Mac, Patrick, Wayne, Byron and me. Three noble teams to battle it out. See y'all at 6:00 on Monday at West 8th Avenue. Cheers, R. Robert
I will be there 2 over 1 byronBrilliant Day! Stll champagning at Twickenham! More anon. Very Best DavidBack on Monday! Might just make Robert's direct from YVR! David

good morning patrick. i hope this finds you well and your bruised body is healed. wondering about you both coming over for a meal and tour of the garden some time in April, before the flit. send a few dates that suit you; take care, matt

Hi Glasgow! Thanks for good wishes for my battered and bruised frame. Glad to report that I really can't complain anymore as my ribs seem just fine and have had some decent rides of late. In fact, just back from an unexpected long ride. Up at just before 8:00 am to take a look at forecast for today. Seemed to be a number of conflicting reports but I chanced it and headed out around 10:00 am, hoping to squeeze in a short ride before rain was supposedly to start again by 12:30 pm. This being the case I decided I'd stay reasonably close to home so dipsy-doodled around Olympic Village for a start and then when sky seemed reasonably clear of black clouds I headed fro Stanley Park. Quite surprised that Seawall was so quiet. I suppose weather dissuaded many although temperature was pleasant enough.

One loop of the Prospect Point Hill and then a series of Lost Lagoon loops to give me 40 km by the time I was headed home. Originally, I hoped to log 51 km before dashing for shelter but although there was a bit of very light drizzle earlier on, rain held off so I decided I might be able to log a 100+ km ride. Didn't really wish to head out to UBC in case heavens opened so I "gerbalized" the needed distance by making about three loops from Olympic Village back along Seawall to under the Granville Bridge and back. Repeat as needed! Again, very few people about so didn't have to dodge too, too many Tikes on Trikes or tourists photographing wonderful cherry blossoms just past bottom of Davie. Home by 2:45 pm, dry as a bone, although needed to give my Trek a good washing as plenty of grit picked up from the streets and puddles before the sun and wind dried everything quite nicely. Thanks for the lovely dinner invitation! Cora Lee suggested every night in April would work for her and wondered if we might as well move in for the entire month! I persuaded her that this was being a bit too pushy so she has relented, suggesting the weekend of the 17th/18th/19th or that of the following one, the 24th/25th/26th. Any of those evenings would suit us. We are off to Kamloops on the 10th for Ryan's wedding. Clara and Dusty fly home to Winnipeg shortly thereafter, on the 16th. In between we are reasonably flexible so if dates I've outlined don't fit perhaps you could suggest some others. Thanks again. Fondestos from Mme Coriandre. Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Hi Raymond! Trust you are well. This notice just arrived. Wouldn't you know it, we'll be in India! Not quite sure of all the details yet but both Corinne and I have some perks coming to us for supporting Cuffed, (Alma Lee started VWF and this is a new venture for her.), so thought that you might be interested in attending. I plan to contact Tricia Barker to find out situation regarding tickets and will let you know as soon as we do, if you think you might wish to go.

Anyway, will be in touch about Cuffed, if not sooner. Fondestos from Mme Coriandre to you and Sylvia. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Janet! Sorry to hear that you are not well. Sounds like a sad story for Leon. Unfortunately, the 29th will not work for us so we need to look for another date. Is any week night possible?

On the Penticton front, had a phone call from our agent there and current owners have agreed to address all of the deficiencies that were listed in the inspection we had requested so very pleased about that. At any rate, delighted that most of our concerns should be rectified. Let us know what might work for you in terms of helping us with trip to India. Fondestos from Mme Coriandre. Cheers, Patrizzio!
