U Haul Blues: Saturday, April 18th!

The simplest questions are the most profound. Where were you born? Where is your home? Where are you going? What are you doing? Think about these once in a while and watch your answers change. -Richard Bach, writer (1936- )

Hi Weepy Winston! Hope last message dried up some of your tears! Just spoke to Rosie-the-Riveter and they are fine other than the fact that she thinks she left her hearing aid batteries by her armchair! Nana will have to wait for a bit, until later this morning, before going over to search as Sarge's brother, Robert, and wife, Sylvia, are sleeping there until they return to Nova Scotia on Tuesday.

[Gruyère and Black Pepper Popovers Chloe Alexis Dunn Yum!! Patrick James Dunn Where is Clara when you really need her?]

Must away as I've been instructed by Lady Mary to take a look at the rental trucks, on Marine, we might use, to get a better idea of which size, (20' or 26'), suits. Big Al has very kindly agreed to drive vehicle so certainly appreciate that. Colleen will go with him as far as their place at Sunshine Valley as she is having a Goils Weekend then. Love and Cheers, Dad!

Pics: Whirlygig's pilings for addition to his place on Galiano. This is what I said about Morita: "Great construction snaps although I was rather dismayed that the Site Foreman wasn't wearing a white safety helmet! Do the paws, chests and head stripe count with WCB?"

Hello Patrick it was lovely to see you again after such a long time years??????? Lore and I travel every year to the Okanagan we have friends in Oliver, when we come this year we shall give you enough warning. Love Gisela

Hi Gisela! Wonderful to see you yesterday even under such sad circumstances. By all means, do visit us in Penticton when in the Okanagan. [611 Burns Street. Not sure what our new phone number will be yet.] You are more than welcome to stay as we'll have plenty of room for you and Lore so look forward to that. Ironically, but happily so, it seems that we may well have even more contact with friends from Vancouver that the years, (as you say), and busy lives, have somehow conspired to keep apart. Again, as you say, keep in touch. Fond regards from Corinne. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Wila's picture and a few snaps I took back at Millyard after the memorial service.

Hello Patrick the photos are lovely, Wila, elegant as always. I could not come, as I had to go to dinner with my godson and his wife, he was leaving for Australia.
Long story to tell, he lived there for 6 years did his Phd, came back last year
but they both are not that happy here. he still works for the University of Perth.
I went to visit him in 2010, it is a most gorgeous city on the indian ocean, he
lived in Fremantle .Yeah he is 31, i miss him terrible, as you might remember he is Masha's son, I partly rises him. Roman is going to be father in July, they are most likely going to return to OZ by the end of the year. He makes very good money. Canada can not match it, does not even try.
Yes Patrick, Lore and i will contact you when we are in Oliver, but please and Corinne keep in touch. Ciao Gisela

Hi Gisela! Glad you liked the snaps. Yes, I do remember Masha well. Please say hello to her. I think I only saw Roman as a fairly young child, perhaps in the Science Division! At any rate, we have visited Perth a number of times and find it wonderful place, as you note. We have close friends there, as well as in Bunbury and further south in the Margaret River area. Great wine! Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: Corinne with Chloë and parents/grandparents, (Dusty and Clara), last Wednesday, day before they flew back to Winnipeg.

Hello Patrick thanks for the lovely photo, how old is Cloe.??? Well, my friend I am not able to say greetings to Masha, she does not talk to me , - I HAVE STOLEN HER SON-, and I am responsible for her marriage break- up. I had nothing to do with, he left her with and for another woman.

Masha is unfortunately very biter, has not forgiven her EX, speaks not nicely
about him, and all the hate she has transferred now to MOI. It hurt when it happened but such is life. She is really NUTZO. Hard for Roman he cares for her and so he should she is mom has always been. She has hurt him many times. For Roman is very difficult to divide his time, between his mom, me, and his dad. I told him not to worry about me. I will always love him no matter what.

Masha was hurtful to his wife as well. Tessa, is somebody he met 12 years ago it was a on and off relationship and then nothing for 6 years. 2011 they contacted each other she flew out to Perth/Fremantle. got a job at Lullulemon in Cotesloe, suburb of Freo, as a manager. The rest is history.

Tessa did not want to come back to Vancouver, she has a bit of a trying family. But Roman for some unknown longings wanted to come back. BUT, that has changed he realizes his destiny and future most likely will be in OZ. I like and love Australia very much, travelled extensively down under many years ago, have good friends outside Sydney. But I really like the west coast, the Indian ocean, Margaret river etc. and I fell in love with Freo ( Fremantle). Well you have been there therefore you know what I am talking about.

Well Patrick, i don't want bore you any longer with family issue, we all have them take care my love to Corinne and please do keep in touch. Always Ciao Gisela

Hi again, Gisela! Chloë will be 39 this August 18th! She and Ayn, (She has been living in LA for almost 20 years now), plan to visit then to celebrate her birthday and new place. How time flies!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your estrangement from Masha. Sounds like she is very, very bitter, unfounded as it may be, indeed. Always sad when once close friendships dissolve but things happen and one can only continue to live life as best one can, under circumstances.
Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Atsuko and Josie! Wonderful to see you both yesterday even under such sad circumstances.  Best Wishes from Corinne to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi again, Margaret! Wonderful to see you and Ron, as well as Mary Anne and Harold. Josie and Atsuko walked back with me to our place after we left Millyard and stopped for glass of wine. [At first Atsuko said no thanks but when I opened a Riesling from Orofino, Similkameen, she had a thimbleful!] Enjoyed a brief visit and Josie happened to mention that you are writing a family history. How exciting!

She also mentioned that you have been drawn back to playing the piano so another terrific development. In this vein, I seem to remember that we had discovered a connection between close friend, Rick Toews, now a lawyer in Squamish, who took piano lessons from your father, in Kamloops, if memory serves me well. Rick is handling the sale of our place here in town and two of his three children have become quite accomplished pianists, at least in terms of RCM levels, I believe. When do you and Ron go on book tour? Perhaps you'll be  on this year's Vancouver Writers Festival program! Corinne and I have volunteered for many years and will do so again this year as it finished two days before we fly to India to travel for six weeks with Lynne and Peter Lighthall. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello again, Dear Ewa and Andrew! Obviously, your loss is terribly raw at the moment but trust your lives will begin to regain a semblance of peace as you begin to adjust to living without your/our wonderful Wila. Of course, she remains in our hearts and minds, as the moving, most fitting memorial service testified. Thank you for the chance to visit with other friends and family afterwards. Fond regards from Corinne to you both. [She is suffering from quite a nasty cold, otherwise she certainly would have accompanied me, to express here condolences in person.] Again, deepest sympathy, Patrizzio!

Hello All! Great seeing you all over the last while in Vancouver, Kamloops etc…
Just a reminder to keep my situation private if you can. We have some close friends here (Tony and Bruni), and they had already heard about my cancer.
I was going to share this with them, but they knew, and had heard that it was much worse (ie Kidneys etc, but as far as I know, they are fine!) I do appreciate it. Thanks again, Gregg
