West Hawk United Exhibition Blues: Sunday, August 3rd!

As against having beautiful workshops, studios, etc., one writes best in a cellar on a rainy day. -Van Wyck Brooks, writer, critic (1886-1963)

Hi Not So Lurking Lynne and Dom Jugos!!!

Trust you are both well. From the sound of it, things go swimmingly. Thanks for link to itinerary for southern India. When I received your message, Lynne, I was actually in Winnipeg. Drove in this past Thursday morning while Cora Lee was to  come in Friday morning, with her parents. We will certainly take a close look at it, probably not until after this long weekend as it has been and continues to be a busy time.

More to follow but wanted to get this off while I could, before connectivity seizes up! Hello from all the Gang! Fondestos from Cora Lee
to you both.  Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Wild Bill! How grand to hear from you. Sorry to learn that your vision loss is still afflicting you but you seem to be dealing with treatments as best you can. In fact, the mother-in-law, Eva, of Corinne's youngest sister, just had a similar treatment to you, day before we arrived in Falcon Lake, week ago this past Friday. Enjoy the cruise. Fondestos to you from Cora Lee and Chloë. Cheers, Patrizzio!

After church service at West Hawk Chloë drove me back to Falcon where I suited up and then rode to War Eagle, around 1:30 pm. Was familiar with what lay ahead but wasn't at all prepared for the fierce head wind. Every ride I'd taken since being here, I've faced very strong head winds right out of the west. Today, of course, it was an easterly as I was riding towards Kenora! Still traffic on Trans Canada wasn't too heavy so it was a pleasant outing. Stats for ride:

Once at War Eagle, spent an enjoyable afternoon on the deck overlooking the lake, chatting with one and all. Kids had had fun swimming, tubing behind Uncle Giorgio's 190 hp boat and jumping off the rock cliffs, (20' and 40' options!), across the lake. Rebekah and Pierre even swam back to dock after the dare devil-age was over, about half a km.

Cody was responsible for doing steaks on the bbq and he did a superb job so together with kale/cabbage/Brussels Sprouts salad, party potatoes, (basically mashed potatoes with sour cream/cream cheese/Parmesano), green beans and fab banana cake for dessert, we all did very well. Most of the folk fell asleep on drive back to Falcon, day in the sun and on water, taking its toll.
