Dear Corinne, Pat , Chloe, Ayn and families We wish a happy new year to all of you, health, luck and all the good things you can imagine. We hope you are all well and I am sure you are actually celebrating with families and friends a great party. Sorry Pat, I am not a quick mailer as you are but I enjoy all your detailed mails with wonderful pictures a lot while feeling close to your life - Thank you very much !!!

We are happy to say that we are also well. We celebrated christmas all together in Ittigen including my old friend and house pianist Hermann ( I know him since my gymnasium time in Basel) as usual and also with Hanna this time. New Years eve is rather quite this time since Simon and Nicolas have to work ( at hospital and urgent architecture work ) also Mike has to prepare two exams just after New Year for his master. Thats real life now here. Otherwise we can not complain, we love sitting Lia, this is a gift there is no better job on earth for us - and your nice books are constantly in use! Although we are a bit more limited and a bit of traveling we do in between.

So I spent a week in Manhattan with Mike this fall ( I offert him in a week moment a small trip before an important exam ) it was his strong desire while I thought of Paris or Copenhagen.

Eveline is happy with her renewed Atelier with a natural light top and she spends much time there, while I take care of our old house and of my sheep backyard and fitness etc. Please give our warmest regards to all, families and friends, Fondestos Eveline and Heinz and Simon, Nicolas and Michael

Happy New Year!!! Loved the sisterhood selfie--especially the first one.  Will save that one for sure.  Also loved the one of Corinne's parents--they are amazing for 90!! Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and I know the hired help has responded to you regarding the dinner arrangements.  I will try to focus on being upright. Take care and here's to a healthy and interesting New Year. Fondest regards always Jo-Anne

Hi, Not sure if Chester has fired up the laptop yet today, so thought I'd better give a reply. A dessert would be most acceptable, as the kitchen staff is very poor at making sweets. One just can't get good help these days. - the serf

Hi Janet! Trust your cold bug has been vanquished and that you are now feeling much better. What a drag to be ill, anytime, let alone over Christmas hols! Sorry I've not been in touch sooner. No excuses but plenty of reasons!

Thanks so much for lovely photo gallery. (I'd like the digital files for all of the snaps if it isn't too much to ask!) I thought the same thing about our respective messages "crossing in cyberspace! I've forwarded link to many who attended so certainly appreciate your generous effort. On the exercise front I applaud your New Year's resolution to "recover a healthy weight". A personal trainer may well work and that is fine. What I suggest, whether you hire one or not, is that you make small, incremental changes that you can effect, more or less easily, immediately, today, this very moment, and then build from there. The key is to actually do something and not just think about it. Believe me, I know as following might reveal.

With respect to the Christmas scene, Dusty is currently working on your hedgehogs so when we can arrange to get together to chat about India, (Thanks so much for this, as well, of course.), we'll be able to return the items you left here, as well as the finished picture. At any rate, look forward to seeing you in next little while. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Picasso, a few minutes ago!

What to do with tree. We should do this:

Hi Chloƫ! Healthy New Year! Thanks for websites. I think we'll simply take our tree, along with one from Clan Sutherland, to Kits Beach if the group at Kingsgate Mall isn't operating this year. On another matter, I think we have a large plastic container that I think is Krissy's so please ask her if it does belong to her.

Have attached the snap of the Durston elevator as your Grandfather would like to send a number of copies to various friends and relatives. Thanks. See you later if you decide to join gathering downstairs. Cheers, Dad!
Great shots! Happy New Year xo

Hi CC! (Does that stand for Canadian Club?) Just wanted to thank you and O Susannah for New Year's wishes and pass along our own, from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, for a Healthy New Year to you and family! We will be making a special trip back to The Islay Inn on Saturday, January 24th, 2015, at 5:00 pm, to celebrate Rosita's 90th and we'd like you to join us so let us know if you are available for dinner when you have a moment.

Dusty is currently working on a winter scene, featuring hedgehogs, for a close friend of ours. At any rate, look forward to hearing from you about birthday bash Cheers, Patrizzio!

Thanks so much for the pics Pat. Really enjoyed seeing you and Corrine again. Sounds like you are in for a big change and adventure this year. I know it will Be a great year for you. Janet

Hi Janet! Wanted to send along wishes for a Healthy New Year to you and Gladys Knight and The Pips when your message arrived! Furthermore, we were wondering if you and your Mom would be free on  Saturday, January 10th, 2015, (!), for dinner and bridge before she returns home. Let us know if you are available when you have a moment and we'll plan accordingly. At any rate, look forward to hearing from you about bridge. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Patrick and Corinne, We enjoyed seeing you over the holidays - thanks for having us to your home for your open house. It was great to meet some of your friends and to see Ayn and the boys.

We also enjoyed our visit over lunch. Patrick you really are an enthusiastic soul about life and that is always refreshing to be around. Thank goodness Corinne brings the quiet stable element to your household. We have filled our salt and pepper push button shakers and are delighted with them. They are at the front of the shelf and our other salt and pepper are pushed to the back. What a lovely gift. Great shot of Gerry and Corinne. I will have to save that one.

We had a fun New Year’s at a friends playing goofy games so there was a lot of laughing, not much drinking or eating so we all feel quite on top of the world today. All the Christmas goods are stashed away until next year and now we are going through mail etc. to get caught up. Good to be home. Let us know how your trip to Penticton area works out. Cheers, Dawn

Hi Back!! Love the way you can write about your 'adventures' and daily events. You have a gift for writing (and I'm sure many other gifts as well!!!)!

Your bike ride sounds wonderful. I'm not sure I have warm enough cycling clothes to be riding 100km in this weather; though your accounting of your ride inspires me to get out there! Maybe once mom heads back. As for the 10th...thank you so much for the invite, but mom heads back to Cranbrook in the morning that day, so we will have to decline the lovely offer.
She will have been here for 1 month and though I know that Dusty and Clara are here much longer than that each year...1 month is a long time for me and so though I will miss my dear mom, it will be time for her to return home. I do wish she lived in Vancouver, however, that isn't the case. So I will await her visit out here around May, and IF you are still here, then I will be in touch :-). Hope you are having a wonderful day today...boy that sun is fabulous! Hugs,
Janet
