Painted Nails Blues: Friday, January 23rd!

If you don't love me, it does not matter, anyway I can love for both of us. -Stendhal (Marie-Henri Beyle), novelist (23 Jan 1783-1842)

Rachel's Colourful Digits!

Hi Patrick, I’m sure we could probably share two bottles of expensive malt during Desert Storm, and both be winners (or losers).  That extended forecast you’re looking at must be for the Naramata in the Yukon – the forecast I saw is calling for some rain, but no snow in early February.

On my trip to Vancouver I’ll be away from mid-day Feb 10 to mid-day Feb 13.  Maybe we won’t overlap, depending on your arrival.  When are you planning on getting to Palm Desert?  I really apologize for not being there for  your whole stay.  We’ll have to have twice as much fun after I get back.  Re the key, I  don’t really need it as I will be very convenient for me to stay in a downtown hotel paid by my client, thanks anyway.  I’ll make a point of visiting the Island Inn one evening for bridge with Sarge, Dusty and Clara.

I’m extremely impressed by your calorie count of 1099 on the elliptical.  For me, 250 calories seems like a pretty good workout.

Last night we took in the Penticton Art Gallery Hot Stove Film Series showing, at the Landmark Cinema, of The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.  Lynnie and I had both read the book and loved it.  The film was even better as it really brought the story to life. Cheers, Peter

Hi Hot Stove Hot Shots! Great that you enjoyed the film. We have the book here so I might take it along on the trip south. Understand about staying downtown but do keep in touch with Sarge about a night at bridge if it works out for everyone. Don't worry about being away in February as I'll be riding while The Sisterhood shop! As well, I'll put considerable dents into those two bottles of expensive malt! You probably read on elliptical, Bridge for Dummies, so that's why your calorie count is so low!

Our real estate agent, Dave, was just here as we needed to sign listing papers. He hopes to start showing our place on Monday. Kitchen is a whirlwind of activity at the moment, with the Three Durston Sisters each making a dish for tomorrow's birthday bash: Patti, moussaka; Spumoni, spanakopita and lemon potatoes; Cora Lee, marinating chicken, for Mediterranean style dish. Think I'll head to the gym before I manage to get stabbed! Chat soon. Cheers, Patrizzio.

Patrick, Beware!  You don’t want to live in Oliver. Will lecture you more strongly about this in Desert Storm.  If you don’t get the message, will have to arrange for the Okanagan Sniper to rub you out.

Pat, Let's plan for Monday am - high of 14, low of 8 and dry with sunny periods according to the 7 day forecast. If Monday doesn't work, Tuesday will do for me. Ray

Hi Raymond! Monday should be fine. We can touch bases on Sunday to firm up route, time, etc. Our real estate agent, Dave, was just here as we needed to sign listing papers. He hopes to start showing our place on Monday.

Hi Calamity and Whirlissimo! Trust you are both well. If you are in town this weekend, you are welcome to pop by on Saturday to wish Rosie-the-Riveter Happy 90th Birthday. I also spoke to Sarge about Doyle book and that is fine. Mme Coriandre just left for the airport to collect Tina, from Adelaide. She is en route to Sun Peaks to hook up with her husband, Trevor, there skiing since last Saturday. Cora Lee took Flamin' along as she is off to Williams Lake to adjudicate figure skating this weekend. Plan to ride with Robo Man and Vittorio on Monday so let us know if you are keen to join us, Un-Rider!

Anyway, let me know what you think about riding this coming week and we'll plan accordingly. As well as whether you might pop by on Saturday. Talk soon. Cheers, Il Conduttore Pics: Dave with The Sisterhood; Paparazzi abuse!

Dear Libertine Mythomaniac! Forgot to mention how appropriate many of this week's listings were for the naming disordered as well as for the vacuous un-read!!! Sorry, meant to say, Ultracrepidarian, Libertine Mythomaniac!

Hello Cornwall! Trust you are both well. Very upset to learn about Krissy's/Mark's latest "catastrophe"! How terribly upsetting especially after horrible happening earlier. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello All, Bridge at my place at VI post meridium; Januarius XXVI Anno Dominae MMXV: West 8th Avenue (the block West of Arbutus)
Who's there? Who's square? Cheers, R.

Dear Bridge Gladiators: I'm delighted to be invited to The Forum. I could ask Sarge is he is interested/free if you need more players, given chaps who are away. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Very sorry can't make even for Toga Bridge! David Abivi, doleo L I left, I regret, L Miser Ego sum in Novus Universitas pro tunc 15 dies, Duos Stipes,

Cheers, R. Amant would be fine as long as they all love, rather than just Clive. Romani, ite domum! Biggus Nendickus, I would think it is Nendickus minimus The only minimus is points.

[Osha Neumann, an artist and attorney who defends homeless people, has a new book out: Doodling on the Titanic: the Making of Art in a World on the Brink.]

Thanks Patrick,  There are certainly lots of possibilities in the Okanagan. How nice to have Sarge and Flamin looking a recreational property, too.

As for the dollar, it's truly unfortunate, there's no doubt we're all going to feel the effect. Heaven forbid our favorite wines goes up even more, not to mention travel and anything else we get from the States. Despite this, I hope you have a very nice visit with all your friends and family. We wish Clarisse a Very Happy 90th Birthday!! Enjoy and say Cheers from all of us,  Ruth P.S. Niki currently does Short-term Disability Case work so unfortunately she can't help you. Hi Kids! Trust all goes well at The Squamish Waldorf. Cheers, Patrizzio!
G'day Pat, Thanks for the newsy email; exciting times ahead for you and Corinne by the sounds of it. Patrick Dunn and the Okanagan sounds like a pretty volatile mix to me! Ski conditions aren't too bad; could be better but it's much too warm (+2C in the village this arvo) - not sure what it's like at Whistler but I think Sarge would be better off there than coming up here.

Sorry I'll miss you on the way back - I was wondering how I was going to arrange things so that I could catch up with you so at least that makes arrangements that little bit easier for me! Saw Ariane, Doug and the boys last Sunday; the boys are really shooting up and A&D seem happier - not sure if that's the reality though. Enjoy your trip down South - love to Corinne and Chloe. Ooroo for now. Trevor         Hello Sun Peaks Kids! Trust all goes well at on the slopes! Cheers, Patrizzio!

RELEASE OF 2013 16-MONTH WINES & TASTING INVITATION
You are receiving this notice because either (1) our records show that you have purchased 2013 wine futures, aged 16 months, or (2) you are a part of our Dave's Wine Club, Vintage Circle or Futures programs. If you do have 16-month 2013 wines on order, those wines are now available for pick up or delivery and the deadline to make arrangements to receive the wine will be June 1, 2015.

In Closing, We'd Like to Say:
Thank you for your support of our "Crazy" Futures and Wine Club programs! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reply to this email. We have been sampling the 10-month aged 2013 wines for the past few months and have been very impressed with their early drinkability and aging potential. We are anxious to taste and discern the differences the extra time in oak has contributed to these new releases. We look forward to getting this wine to you before summertime weather sets in. All the best wishes for 2015! Dave & Pat and all of the Coffaro Winery Team

Hello Famiglia Coffaro! Trust all goes well with you and winery. Sorry I've not been in touch sooner. Same story: No excuses but plenty of reasons! Main one being that we are thinking very seriously of moving to The Okanagan. If we can't live in your guest house in Sonoma we have to move to The Naramata, next best thing! Anyway, nothing is set in stone yet! However, the "process", as such, is well underway.

Have been thinking about you two, especially when a friend forwarded the link about the new German car powered by saltwater.
Have you heard about this vehicle, David?

We will probably spending first Monday night in February in Portland and then Tuesday night in Williams so thought we might pop by on Wednesday to say hello and collect 2013 wine I see is now available,
if that is possible.

Will probably leave it in Berkeley until we return from Palm Desert where we will spend a week with friends, (Lynne and Peter are couple we will travel with in India.), after visiting with Ayn and Los Horridos in LA and, perhaps, other friends in Yuma/Mesa. Anyway that is most of the news that's fit to print for now. Fondestos from Mme Coriandre. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pic:  Adelaide Tina, en route to Sun Peaks, (To "surprise Trevor! It was that, we subsequently learned. He sends along best wishes by the way.), with us for weekend.

This is amazing. At first, I thought it was a hoax but it checks out so, unless it's an elaborate con, it's genuine. Wow, what a car.  I wonder how long it will take for this technology to reach the US. Now that Tesla is building that lithium battery plant in Nevada at a huge cost, it would give it serious competition if it becomes affordable.

The recent announcement that the Quant e-Sportlimousine, which is a salt water powered car, has been certified for use on European roads is a big sign that the Oil Cartels are losing the energy war. Since the early 1900s, the Oil Cartels, which are controlled by the Controllers, have been harassing and silencing alternative energy inventors who pose a threat to the Oil Cartels. One of the greatest alternative energy inventors that they silenced was Nikola Tesla.

Unlike traditional cars that run on gasoline, the Quant e-Sportlimousine runs on an electrolyte flow cell power system made by NanoFlowcell that has the ability to generate an astonishing 920 horsepower (680 kW). This salt water powered car can go from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 217.5 mph (350 km/h). The Quant e-Sportlimousine is built by the German company Quant.

“The car is powered by the electrolyte flow cell power system, which is a part of the NanoFlowcell technology. The system works in a similar way to a hydrogen fuel cell, except for the fact that salt water is used for storing power.

“In particular, two liquids with metallic salts, which act as the electrolyte, are combined in such a way that the electrochemical reaction takes place. After that, electric motors use this reaction to generate electricity, which is then stored and distributed by super capacitors.

“The efficiency of this system reaches 80%, since the car has almost no moving parts in it, and the produced waste heat is insignificant in comparison with cars powered by lithium-ion batteries.”

Alternative energy technologies, such as the electrolyte flow cell system, will become more mainstream as the new paradigm emerges. These types of alternative energy technologies will help solve our “energy crisis” and usher a new age in which we can live without worrying about not having access to cheap and clean energy.
