On the Road Blues: Monday, June 15th!

Perfect love is rare indeed - for to be a lover will require that you continually have the subtlety of the very wise, the flexibility of the child, the sensitivity of the artist, the understanding of the philosopher, the acceptance of the saint, the tolerance of the scholar and the fortitude of the certain. -Leo Buscaglia, author, speaker and professor (1924-1998)

Hej Herr Patrick Dunn! Hope your transition to Okanagan went smoothly. Expect that you are aging a barrel of the finest Islay Inn scotch.Plant some trees and name them after your favorite authors. What's your new phone number? All is well here. School is over. Summer coming along just fine. How are things with you? Mr Fjord

How are things in the new pad.  Wayne

Hi Sarge! Burns Street is going well even if we still have scads of unpacking to do. At any rate, we left on Monday, just after 9:00 am, stopping briefly in Osoyoos for cherries and locally pressed/bottled apple cider, before taking the Crowsnest, #3, through the Rockies. Fabulous, fabulous scenery! Had last driven in way back in the early '80's with Annie and her then boyfriend, Jim Miller, from Winnipeg. Only went as far as Calgary with them, on that trip, but I had forgotten how stunning the Rockies, (as well as much of the other scenery), on this southern route, were. Bit slower with traffic as not as many passing lanes and more semi's and RV's than on Hope-Princeton. However, once we were past Fernie and over the Crowsnest Pass there was were very few vehicles on the road so I was sailing along good, empty country roads at 120 kph! Nevertheless, what with time change we arrived at Zircon's in Medicine Hat at 9:30 pm for a very late dinner. Terrific visit before we fell into bed around midnight.

DECANTER MAGAZINE , an International wine and spirits magazine published in about 90 countries, has just issued its 2015 Annual World Wide Awards competition list of winners. (This event is  chaired by wine expert Steven Spurrier)

INTERSECTION ESTATE WINERY has been awarded a SILVER for our 2012 ALLUVIA Merlot. Tasting notes: A 100% Merlot: Chocolate, black cherry, plum and a dash of pepper on the rich, grippy palate. Excellent concentration and balanced, firm tannins. Fruit cake aromas make this very pretty on the nose. Excellent Excellent potential.
