EMERALD LAKE!
Hi Patrizio We'll be leaving lake louise around 10am so expect to be in Burns St by about 4.30. Hope that's ok with you - thank God the GPS is now working !
Looking forward to seeing you and Corinne Penny and Mike xx

Hi Lake Louise People! Glad your GPS is working! Nevertheless, if it conks out, en route, just cruise the back lanes of our new city until you find a huge pile of empty wine bottles and you'll know you have arrived at The Burns Street Watering Hole! Or, you can phone for help and we'll send out a St Bernard with a cask of wine to save you!!! Our home number is 250-493-0092 in case Mad-Cap stops at Cannery Brewing, just down the street from us, and has too many Anarchist Ales to drive the few blocks here.

Must way as although we finished the installation of the window in the spare bedroom, (aka your room), we need to clean glass, frame, etc., as well as put up the curtain rod and hang drapes. Once nail holes are filled and trim is painted, etc., it should look pretty good. How is Mad-Cap at DIY renovations?

Nepal, Elaine [This is a picture of the courtyard in the 1000 room Regal Airport hotel that we stayed in Hong Kong at $350/per night.]

Before Ragin' Bull heads back to Vancouver, around noon, we will install a wall cabinet in our bathroom as Cora Lee finished painting it yesterday. Will be much easier to install with the three of us here, so much to do.

Also bought  a new printer yesterday and we managed, after much fuss and bother, to get it to work so now we can print out our visas, (after a million tries!), for India!
Take your time, travel safely and we'll have the red carpet out around 4:30 pm. Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Mr Fixit with supervisor and construction project!
Looks great!!!

[And this is our bathroom of the Shechen Guest House we are staying at in Kathmandu at $15.00 per night.]

Hello Monday Hikers! Here are some of the snapolas of the delightful hike. Thanks to Bad Boy for acting as Chauffeur Extraordinaire and Antonio/Michaelo for being our tireless, intrepid guides/leaders.

I'm absolutely devastated not to be joining today's white water hike! No excuses but plenty of reasons! Main ones being that we are still putting up shelving and after that need to decant the Rumpus Room so that place looks a tad more acceptable, (Aarturo was very critical of chaos when he dropped me off and came into house to raid my malt cabinet!), to visitors, from London, arriving later this afternoon. Trust water in creek wasn't too, too cold! Brrrrrrr and Cheers, Patrizzio!

[We thought the earthquake didn't affect Kathmandu too much but this is what remains of the building next door to our guest house.]

Patrizzio, thanks again for the super photos. Today we opted for a regular hike instead of the creek/canyon crawl since it was quite cool out there. We missed you!!!! Hugs, Olly.

Patriçio, Made it! 3 hours, 25 minutes. That beemer sure eats up Hwy 97A at 5,000rpm. Hit 190k/h only a couple of times, but sadly couldn’t shake off some guy in a Subaru. He was just more nuts in the rain squalls … must of been “joven” (that’s “young" in Español).

[Went to tour a boarding school and the main building has been declared too unsafe to use so the 750 children now have classes in the garages or outdoors under tin roofs. Monsoon season is just ending and the the rain on the roofs is deafening making teaching quite difficult.]

Great visit! We’ll do it again. Maybe move the house a couple of feet to the left! Off to eat my chicken chow mien now cheers//bjp                                     Hi Beemer Bad Boy/Ragin! Glad all went well on return leg even if you were speeding! Just finished loading the dishwasher and doing the dishes, after a lovely evening with Madcap and Penelope, so just a quick note to thank you for your more than commendable effort. Certainly appreciated everything you did for us and that you were so generous with your time and expertise. Burns Street Watering Hole is starting to take shape and much of the credit goes to friends like you. Once again, thanks a millione for your company and help. Fondestos from Lady Mary, off to bed after preparing wonderful appetizers and an ultra-delicious meal. Cheers, Il Conduttore!

[Lunch is ready. Hot & steamy here but loving every minute. XOX Elaine & Ted]

Pat, Thanks for the photos of the hike. Just got back from England. Did 2 days of cycling with Jim Brownlee in Yorkshire before embarking on the Durham Coastal Walk with a group of 6. Also rented 'Boris" bikes with an old friend from Bermuda I hadn't see since 1967 and cycled along the Thames embankment.
Watching the opening match of the World Cup tomorrow with Mike Carter (England v Fiji). Ray

Hi Corinne, Our friends told us when they were in Inja many years ago with another couple they were put in two cars.  Could you please clarify with Luxe what sort of vehicle we will have.  It wouldn't be fun to be riding in separate cars. Cheers from Mt Tremblant Peter

Hi Peter, When I ask for a certain driver. They can't do as he only drives the smaller vehicles. We are in the Tempo Traveler which is a mini bus. Seems quite large but I guess when we have driver and guide there will be 6 plus our luggage. Cheers Corinne Thanks Corinne.  There should be lots of room for Patrick's new friends.

Hi Patrick - I assume you are going to be in town for the Writers Fest. This was supported by a gracious invitation we received from Nancy Halperin to join her and David for a dinner with you both the weekend before. Unfortunately we had to decline as I have a commitment that evening I can't get out of. We get back from Europe the day before and had to cram stuff into the day after our return followed by the election and the Festival starting on Tuesday.

FYI, I don't think we mentioned that we are running a contest to see who can come up with the funniest caption to go with the photo of you in the Fest programme. Most of the submissions are along the lines of a question asked by the little girl sitting beside you; "Why is this weird old guy..(fill in the blank). Good fun eh? Trust you are both well.Cheers.....Paul
